Do you find yourself running out of ideas for your blog or social media posts? Have you been skipping blog posts because you have writers block? Never run out of ideas again because recycling content is as good as coming up with something new. Here are a few ways you can recycle your content.

  1. Reuse old blog articles
There is a misconception that material that is posted in the past is not relevant today. But there are many pieces of content with good information that still applies in today’s world. That is why you should take those interesting articles and do some keyword research on them. Neil Patel has a great tool for keyword research. Determine the most popular keywords for today on the same topic and rewrite the articles using the updated keywords. But don’t just stuff the keywords in the piece. Actually create meaning behind the new keywords and make the article even better than it was.  Do this with all your old content and never run out of topic ideas again. You will increase your traffic to your blog and boost your revenue as a result.
  2. Make multiple videos out of one
If you have 45 minutes of raw footage speaking about your business or interviewing one of your employees, it is amazing how much content you can extract from one piece of footage. For example, if during an interview you have footage of answering 10 questions, you can segment that video into 10 short clips, each describing the specific question that was asked. Those questions become the new topic of each video. Here is an example of one Clairant made for a customer. Create a YouTube channel to store all of these videos and link to them through your website and social media. Also take these videos and create small articles about them using each clip to create another topic and write a little more detail to elaborate.
  3. Turn a video or webinar into a podcast
With technology these days we can easily take a great video using our smart phones with perfect audio and some great footage. Another great way to recycle content is through extracting the audio from a video and creating a podcast or audio recording from it. Millions of people listen to podcasts every day when they are unable to watch video. Whether they are driving or jogging, podcasts are an extremely effective channel to deliver your message as a business. So start taking audio recordings from your past videos, add some new recordings to enhance them if necessary and start becoming a content recycling guru.
